Gardening conundrum number 2 of many

Why is it that the tomatoes I'm nurturing in tomato corner are in flower and look like this

All very fine, full of flowers, etc.
But the ones I have abandoned, not potted on, forgot to water, in neglect corner look like this

See tomatoes! Why is that?

    It just goes to show that mother nature knows best. I hope the flowering psmpered ones get some fruits for you soon.
