Bluebell woods

I was skiving from the lottie again today - feel free to remind me next time I moan about weeding, being behind etc. We went to Rutland Water, the bluebells in Barnsdale wood were beautiful and smelt lovely too. They are definitely my favourite spring flower (OK and daffodils...).

It seems Anne Bronte rated them too:
The Bluebell
A fine and subtle spirit dwells
In every little flower,
Each one its own sweet feeling breathes
With more or less of power.
There is a silent eloquence
In every wild bluebell
That fills my softened heart with bliss
That words could never tell.

(then it goes on a bit...)

If you haven't seen any bluebells yet - get out there!

  1. Beautiful bluebells! Hello just found your blog, so nice to find people who live similar lives.

Bluebells are so gorgeous... we went to our local woods for a ride last weekend, my boys loved riding their bikes also. lou :0)
